iPhone2SignalK – Hobby-Navigations-App für iPhone und iPad
Stand: 15. Oktober 2026 (App Store 1.9 live · TestFlight 1.10) · Verantwortlicher: Thorsten Albers · Kontakt: developerttools@gmail.com
2. Was auf deinem Gerät bleibt
Standort, Kompass, Lage
GPX, Widgets, Zugangsdaten
Tracks und GPX-Wegpunkte liegen auf dem Gerät. Widgets lesen nur lokale Statusdaten (App Group). Optionales Auth-Token und optionaler Google-Map-Tiles-Key liegen in der iOS-Keychain. Der Entwickler erhält nichts davon.
Wetter-Routing / Region-Cache / Routing-Wegpunkte (optional)
Geladene Wetterfelder, optionale Strömung, GEBCO-/Seascape-Bathymetrie, Landmaske (inkl. optional OSM-Küste/Binnengewässer), No-Go-Zonen, eigene Land-/Wasserzonen, berechnete Routen und persistente Routing-Wegpunkte (Application Support, unabhängig von GPX) bleiben lokal auf dem Gerät. Der Entwickler empfängt diese Daten nicht.
AIS / Instrumentenempfang (optional)
3. Was du selbst vom Gerät schicken kannst
- Apple Maps: Bei Apple-Kartentypen gelten Apples MapKit-Bedingungen.
- Google Map Tiles (optional): Nur mit deinem eigenen Map-Tiles-API-Key; Anfragen unter deinem Key an Google.
- Wetter / Bathymetrie / Küste / Tide / Atlas (optional): Beim Laden im Tab Routing (und optional Wind/Gezeitenstrom auf Tracks/Anker) gehen Anfragen an öffentliche Quellen (u. a. NOAA, OpenGribs, DWD, Open-Meteo inkl.
7. Deine Rechte (DSGVO u. a.)

iPhone2SignalK – hobby navigation app for iPhone and iPad
Effective: 15 October 2026 (App Store 1.9 live · TestFlight 1.10) · Controller: Thorsten Albers · Contact: developerttools@gmail.com
The developer does not collect any data.
There is no developer-run server for this app. No accounts with me, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no crash reporters. I do not receive location, photos, GPX tracks, instrument data, weather/routing data or iCloud content — and I cannot see them.
1. Summary
The app has no backend of its own and no third-party SDKs for ads or analytics. Compass, GPX, anchor watch and optional weather routing stay on your device until you send something: to your Signal K / NMEA servers, map tiles from the map provider, optional weather/bathymetry downloads from public data sources onto the device, or the optional remote anchor watch in your iCloud. That is not data collection by the developer.
2. What stays on your device
Location, compass, attitude
GPS, heading, pitch and roll are shown on device and used locally for GPX and the anchor watch. Background use (sending, GPX, anchor watch) may require Location Always. None of this goes to the developer.
Camera / flashlight / QR / photos
Camera only for the LED flashlight on the anchor alarm and to scan a QR code (remote anchor watch). Optionally pick a library image only to read the QR locally. No photos or videos are stored or sent to the developer.
GPX, widgets, credentials
Tracks and GPX waypoints stay on the device. Widgets read local status only (App Group). An optional auth token and optional Google Map Tiles key sit in the iOS Keychain. The developer receives none of this.
Weather routing / region cache / routing waypoints (optional)
Downloaded weather fields, optional currents, GEBCO/Seascape bathymetry, land mask (including optional OSM coastline/inland water), no-go zones, custom land/water zones, calculated routes and persistent routing waypoints (Application Support, independent of GPX) stay on the device. The developer does not receive this data.
AIS / instrument receive (optional)
Received NMEA/Signal K data (including optional AIS targets, CPA/TCPA) is shown and evaluated locally only. Nothing is forwarded to the developer.
Offline MBTiles / KAP (optional)
You import offline map packages (.mbtiles, KAP/BSB) yourself. Licensing and usage rights are your responsibility. The developer does not provide or redistribute charts or map data.
3. What you can send off the device yourself
Only when you choose to — and never to the developer:
- Your servers: When sending is on, heading, attitude, position and SOG go to destinations you entered (typically your Signal K / NMEA system). The developer does not operate those servers and has no access.
- OpenStreetMap / OpenSeaMap: Viewing maps sends tile requests (map region) to the tile servers. Attribution in the app (ODbL).
- Apple Maps: Apple map types follow Apple’s MapKit terms.
- Google Map Tiles (optional): Only with your own Map Tiles API key; requests go to Google under your key.
- Weather / bathymetry / coastline / tide / atlas (optional): When you load data on the Routing tab (and optionally wind/tidal currents on Tracks/Anchor), requests go to public sources (including NOAA, OpenGribs, DWD, Open-Meteo incl. tide hint, Copernicus Marine, Natural Earth, GEBCO via Ifremer, Open Waters/Seascape, OSM Overpass, regional tidal-current models). Responses are stored and evaluated on the device only — nothing is forwarded to the developer.
- iCloud / CloudKit (optional): Only for remote anchor watch — a private share in your Apple iCloud container with devices you connect. The developer cannot access private CloudKit data.
4. Retention
On the device until you delete data in the app or remove the app. The developer stores no usage or location data because the developer receives none.
5. Sharing, sale, tracking
No sale. No tracking as defined by Apple. No data brokers. The developer shares nothing because the developer has nothing.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and is rated 4+ navigation without social user-generated content.
7. Your rights (GDPR and similar)
You may request access, correction and deletion. In practice the data is on your device or on servers you operate. Contact: developerttools@gmail.com.
8. Changes
Material changes will be shown by updating this page (date above).
